SS-31 (Elamipretide) is a mitochondria-targeting peptide that concentrates in the inner mitochondrial membrane to protect cardiolipin and reduce reactive oxygen species. It's one of the most exciting longevity compounds showing reversal of mitochondrial aging.
How it works
Penetrates inner mitochondrial membrane and binds cardiolipin, preventing peroxidation. Reduces electron leak and ROS production. Restores cristae morphology and ATP synthase function.
