FOXO4-DRI
Also known as FOXO4 D-Retro-Inverso, Senolytic Peptide, FOXO4-p53 Disruptor
FOXO4-DRI is a D-retro-inverso synthetic peptide designed to selectively eliminate senescent cells — the dysfunctional 'zombie cells' that accumulate with age and drive chronic inflammation. By disrupting the FOXO4/p53 interaction that keeps senescent cells alive, it triggers their selective apoptosis without harming healthy tissue.
How it works
Senescent cells overexpress FOXO4, which sequesters p53 in the nucleus and blocks apoptosis. FOXO4-DRI is a competitive inhibitor — it binds FOXO4 and displaces p53, releasing the apoptotic brake and triggering programmed cell death specifically in senescent cells.
